If you haven’t got around to seeing 300 yet then stop reading this and go to the theater immediately! It was fantastic, slightly better than what I expected. That being said, I’m always slightly disappointed when something meets my expectations,” but I think the exaggerated story and style of the film are more than enough to push it over common expectations. I almost wish I hadn’t seen any previews or “making of” journals online. i always think a film is better if I’ve gone to it blindly then if I’ve already seen the best parts in the previews.

Of course it’s excessively violent which normally bothers me, but it’s so stylized it looks just like a combination of photoshop brushes speckled accross a canvas.

Great pacing, great story, and best of all great art direction. I don’t know how this movie slipped down to a 62% on rotten, I would give it at least a 90. The critics must not understand comic books…

I rencently noticed I had two broken links on this page, my Demo Reel and Employee of the Month. Those are fixed and soon I will have an updated Demo Reel posted. I also updated the “view” link for Paraworld on the animation page, so check that out for a higher resolution version of the video. That’s all!

The Pendulum is swinging!

Pendulum has updated the “recent” section of their website to include Paraworld and Mark Antony, as well as some nice screen shots.

Motion capture is something I generally want to avoid in my career as an animator, but I was excited to be involved in the development of the new Facial mocap software, Stretchmark©, that Michael is developing at Pendulum, in conjunction with House of Moves. In this project I got to use Stretchmark to push and pull points around on the characters face to exaggerate or correct the actors performance. The only things we animated from scratch were the eyes, tongue, shoulder pads, and the characters sword. Congrats to Michael, Brynn, Matt, Gina, Reed, and the rest of the guys who brought this to life.

Paraworld on CG Society

“Peeking into Paraworld with the artists of Pendulum, Part 3″ has finally been posted on CG Society so be sure and check it out. The animation section of the artcle includes a behind the scenes video with myself and Emil Bidiuc. This was a huge project to work on, especially for only two animators fresh out of school. It was an amazing learning experience and has made my confidence as an animator even stronger.

Welcome to the new and improved Intelligent Pants website, Version .99. As you can see it is still in beta, so things may not work or appear as they would in Intelligent Pants Version 1.0 (Sketches, Illustrations). Still, it is here for your viewing pleasure. I’d like to setup a few ground rules before you go rummaging through my site.
